An Open Environment for the Integration of Heterogeneous Modelling Techniques and Tools

چکیده
Even though the development of formal methods makes steady progress with respect to techniques and tool support, their acceptance in industry is still relatively low. One reason for this probably stems from the fact that most formal approaches require users to forget about their conventional techniques and tools, and to relearn in a new environment. What makes this switch even harder to accept: due to their research character, tools for formal methods can usually not compete w.r.t. convenience, stability, and degree of integration to conventional, state-of-the-art commercial tools. Applying modern repository-based integration techniques to tools for formal methods can overcome some of these drawbacks. Moreover, an incremental migration, in which users can continue to apply their established conventional techniques and tools, adding formal support in degrees as desired, seems to be promising for bringing formal methods to practice. A framework based on the idea of combining established modelling techniques and tools with formal ones has been developed in the context of the Espress project: among others, Statecharts [8], a widely used graphical notation for reactive behavior, are combined with the formal notation Z [20], and with temporal logic [3, 2]. The resulting combined notation is supported by a speci cation methodology [7] and, last but not least, by an open and scalable tool integration environment { the design principles of which will be sketched in this paper.

Spatial modelling of zonality elements based on compositional nature of geochemical data using geostatistical approach: a case study of Baghqloom area, Iran
Due to the existence of a constant sum of constraints, the geochemical data is presented as the compositional data that has a closed number system. A closed number system is a dataset that includes several variables. The summation value of variables is constant, being equal to one. By calculating the correlation coefficient of a closed number system and comparing it with an open number system, ...
متن کاملA Tool Integration Workbench for Enterprise Architecture - Integrating Heterogeneous Models and Tools
Enterprise architecture incorporates the specification of relations between different domains, each speaking its own languages and using its own tools. As a consequence, the enterprise architecture asks for the integration of existing modelling tools. This integration has both technical and conceptual aspects. On a technical level, models in different formats managed by dedicated tools need to ...

متن کاملApplication of artificial neural network and genetic algorithm to modelling the groundwater inflow to an advancing open pit mine
In this study, a hybrid intelligent model has been designed to predict groundwater inflow to a mine pit during its advance. Novel hybrid method coupling artificial neural network (ANN) with genetic algorithm (GA) called ANN-GA, was utilised. Ratios of pit depth to aquifer thickness, pit bottom radius to its top radius, inverse of pit advance time and the hydraulic head (HH) in the observation w...
متن کاملMathematical modelling of an annular photocatalytic reactor for methylene blue degradation under UV light irradiation using rGO-ZnO hybrid
The application of heterogeneous photocatalysis in industrial scale has been hindered by a lack of simple mathematical models that can be easily applied to reactor design and scale-up. This work intends to use a simple mathematical model for predicting methylene blue (MB) degradation in a slurry-annular photocatalytic reactor using zinc oxide (ZnO) hybridized with reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-Z...
